Canberra
Canberra, Australia’s capital, is often thought of as a boring, uninspiring, grey city. Despite this, Canberra is home to some of Australia’s most impressive formal art galleries. Further, street art brings much of the city to life and creates a vibrancy - a sense that the formal galleries have ‘leaked’ into the urban environment. This is both the case for the new Surface Street Art Festival and the free walls in and around Canberra - allowing artists to create works at anytime.
